What is the security deposit for?

This is to to secure against any accidental (or intentional) damage

In case you cause any damage to the yacht during your stay, a deposit is left as security. The damage deposit is fully refundable. It is usually taken on check-in as a pre-authorised credit card transaction. The damage deposit is refunded at the end of the week if no damage was caused.

Charges that can be deducted from the security deposit include:

• Damage to your yacht (either by accident or negligence
• Costs incured to investigate an incident (for instance a diver to check the keel after a grounding)
• Late return to base
• Fuel tanks not being returned full

Any wear and tear that is considered to be normal wear and tear will not be charged.

It is possible to protect your security deposit, and we strongly recommend that you take out an insurance policy!
